As previously reported, last week we played our final medal round of six. The winner was judged on his or her best four cards submitted and the trophy for 2018 goes to Olga Douglas. Congratulations Olga.
On Monday we played ‘Change Partners’ which is a two ball better ball format with players swapping around after each six holes. The winning team with a score of 93 points, which was only one short of the all-time record, were John Shervell, Andy McDonald, Allen McClusky and Rachael Leckey. Our latest recruit, Andy McDonald, individually scored an incredible 46 points! He used to play off 13.
Wednesday saw John Conway win the weekly stableford with a fine 39 points. Ulrika Barth came in second with 36 and Brian Staines took the bronze with 35.
On Friday we played a new format called ‘All fours’. In teams of four it was all to score on the par fours and the best two scores to count on the par 3’s and par 5’s.
The winning team with 118 points were Bryan Neal, Marleen Billen and husband and wife Allen and Joyce McClusky. In a very tight contest it was Bryan Neal’s closing four pars that ensured their victory.
