Torry Army committee met with new Torry owners last week, for a requested questions and answer session. Previous CD Torrevieja president Vicente Boix, has officially handed over the club to a group of ambitious business men, who want only the best for this fallen giant of a club. They wasted no time in replacing Pedreño as manager, appointing Manu Sanchez and Pedro Cerdan as his assistant.
Both men have had valuable experience at Preferente division level, and are hoping to bring experienced players from previous clubs to the Vicente Garcia Stadium.
Only 3 players have been retained from last season – Silver, German and Samuel.
Pre season friendlies are planned to start around 23 July, but it is unlikely that these will be played at Vicente Garcia Stadium, due to the twice annual resurfacing of the pitch, which should get underway soon. A temporary stand will be erected, now that the old one has been demolished.
It makes sense to become a Torry Army member this season more than at any other time, for a 20 percent discount will be applied on all season tickets purchased. Hummel sports wear will proudly be sponsoring all teams connected with Torry, including the newly formed academy.
A link with Torrevieja branch of Real Madrid supporters club has also been formed, involving 140 keen Spaniards who will hopefully not only become regulars through the turnstiles, but also join the Torry Army.
Throughout the season, 2 tickets for every home match will be up for grabs through The Leader, so watch this space!! All in all, optimism within the club is high for the coming season, where promotion is very much on the agenda.
