The thefts were committed on request, with the stolen objects despatched to Morocco
Pilar de la Horadada’s Civil Guard has arrested six men (from Ukraine, Moldova, Morocco (2), Spain and China), all between the ages of 17 and 39 , for 21 cases of theft from houses, a crime of belonging to a criminal group and one of the receipt of stolen goods. Two of the alleged criminals were dedicated to stealing, by order of a third party, from houses in the same urbanization, for the later sale of the stolen property in Morocco.
The Guardia began their operation at the beginning of the year following a series of robberies committed in several houses of the same urbanisation in the town.
The agents focused the investigation on a group of young people, four of them barely 20 years of age, one of them under 17, all residents of El Pilar, who it was thought formed a well organised criminal group.
According to their investigations, one of them identified the objectives, always in houses in the same urbanisation, and by order. Two other members then carried out the robbery itself, forcing the doors or windows to access the interior. A third individual would then move the stolen goods to Morocco where they would be resold.
During the searches of the homes of three of the detainees, several television sets, mobile phones, game consoles, games, fishing rods and watches were seized, relating to at least 21 robberies.
The Civil Guard has now arrested six men who have appeared at the court of Instruction Court No. 2 of Orihuela, where two were detained in custody while the remainder were released on bail.
