Unfortunately this week we had to limit the number of members that were able to play, we were requested to reduce the number of tee times that we book as we have been unable to field the 36 that we have been booking over the last months and as Villaitana have quite punishing penalties for no shows it was deemed prudent to reduce our request. Sadly we were then oversubscribed with applications to play.
The course was in extremely good condition and there were none of the anticipated problems with buggies, in fact other than the price of a cup of coffee, all went well.
Steve Harrison had an outstanding round of golf on this challenging course scoring 41 points off 17.9, now 16.4, in second place with 36 points was Robin Wheatley just taking the spot on countback from Fred Cooley. Division two faired not so well with Derek Gray topping the division with 33 points, followed by Arthur Sullivan and David Brown both on 31 points Arthur again taking second on countback.
There were two nearest the pin prizes, Robin Wheatley on hole 3 and Simon Elvery on hole 14, Fred Cooley and Steve Smith were the recipients of Warbler balls for two’s and David Knight won the football card. There was one singles knockout game played today, Sylvia Mortensen beat husband Jorgen on the last hole.
