So a new season commences with an outing at Hacienda Riquelme under a grey but warm morning attended by 31 players. The course was in great condition with many challenges which reflected the scores posted.
This was particularly the case for Adrian Coates who propped up the field with 12 points definitely work to do ahead of the next event!!!!
The Guest category saw debutant Paul Cassels runner up with 28 pts with Tony Sims winning with 29 points, Well done Tony, we can see you’re going to be a strong competitor in our Gold Division once you’ve put your 3rd card in !
In the Ladies section the course appeared particularly difficult however Deb Rose handled it best taking 1st place with 23 points.
Nearest the pins sponsored by The Ale House saw 4 winners, Tony Smale, Darrell Rose, Lee Holtham and the star of the day with 2 NTP’s Gordy who in his words ‘canned both of them!’ Gordy was also the only taker of the 62 euro 2’s pot, he also got the loudest cheer of the day.,,,,,well done Gordy.
Silver division saw Gordy adding to his money pot with 3rd place, 27 pts followed by Alan Carter 2nd with 28pts leaving Captain Richard Allen to pick up 1st place with 30 pts.
In the Gold category we saw some familiar names looking to head up the new Order of Merit, Tony Smale came in 3rd with 31 pts just pipped on count back by Darrell Rose, 2nd also 31 pts with the winner and following up on his recent brilliant OOM success Phil de Lacy with 32 pts.
