STUDIO32 are preparing to thrill audiences with their latest sizzling musical theatre venture – it’s the Broadway spectacular “Chicago”, a raunchy musical vaudeville set in the 1920s.
Based on real life events the show revolves around a group of merry murderesses, most notably Velma Kelly (Rose Maclean, pictured left) and Roxie Hart (Sarah Hopewell, pictured right). The show features some impressive dance routines and wonderful songs, including “All That Jazz”, “Hot Honey Rag”, “My Own Best Friend” and “Nowadays”.
The role of Velma Kelly is being played by experienced actress Rose Maclean. Rose has been with STUDIO32 for some time, and has played several lead roles over the years, including Golde in the company’s production of “Fiddler on the Roof” two years ago.
Roxie Hart is being played by Sarah Hopewell, a newcomer to the group having only recently arrived in Spain. Together they provide a splendid contrast in characters, Velma’s harsh worldly-wise personality balanced against the innocence of Roxie. What lies in store for these two temptresses? To find out get your tickets now and make sure you don’t miss this wonderful show!
As with the film version the stage show does contain content of an adult nature, and the company advise that it is not recommended for children under the age of 12.
