Montesinos 0 v. Daya Nueva 7
After almost ten minutes into the game and it was all Daya with already three good chances spurned. On fifteen minutes the home side managed to infiltrate into Daya’s half and won three corners in a row but the delivery of all three was pretty poor.
Daya continued to batter their opponents but for all their pressure the Montesinos keeper had not been forced into making a save and it was becoming quite embarrassing for the visitors. On thirty minutes another great chance fell to Daya and this time the keeper had to make a good save ! Montesinos had a good chance to take the lead on thirty five minutes but their effort was blasted overnight the bar.
Just minutes later the home side were down to ten men following a nasty challenge on a Daya player.
The half time whistle was much needed, not for the players but us spectators. You could excuse the home side’s performance, they have not won a game all season and are totally pointless and you could see why. Daya though were just pathetic, it had been the worst first half performance by any Daya side we have followed these past eight and half years !!
Five minutes into the restart and at last Daya began to look like a team with Rocamora firing home from distance to give Daya the lead. The second goal came on fifty two minutes from a trademark Braulio strike. So it should now be game over leaving Montesinos still pointless. Shortly after “Peter Crouch lookalike” (Fernando) made it 3-0 with a simple tap in from close range.
Now it was surely a case of just how many more Daya would score. Rocamora made it 4-0 with his second on sixty minutes and was then substituted ! On sixty five minutes Daya won a penalty and Montesinos another red card, up stepped Fernando and buried it for 5-0 Daya. It was not long before Fernando’s hat trick goal made it 6-0 making double figures seem likely for Daya.
Number seven came via Braulio and it had now become so easy for Daya against their nine man opponents. Moments later Braulio was guilty of a glaring miss as Daya swarmed all over Montesinos in search of double figures. So a 7-0 victory to Daya who had gone a long way to redeeming themselves in the second half following their horrific first half performance, albeit against nine men !
