On Friday 29 September 24 members travelled to Font del Llop to play our monthly Stableford competition. It has been some time since we have played this interesting course. The conditions were good and the greens were smooth and fast, proving somewhat of a challenge. The scores recorded were very close and winning positions were decided on count back.
There are five par threes on this course and the nearest the pins went to: hole 3 Steve Sayers, holes 8 and 16 Monique Reeve, holes 12 and 17 Dave Nicholls. The best front nine with a score of 17 was Paul Manning, while the back nine was won by Jan Shorley with a score of 19. In third place was Lauraine Walker with 31 points, second place went to Fred Reeve also with 31 and winner of the day with a creditable 32 points was Morag Turner.
After the game we all returned to the Olde 9th on Quesada where Grant and his staff provided welcome refreshments. Our next game is on Friday 27 October at our home course La Marquesa.
