The Torrevieja Handball Club Mare Nostrum just failed in their bid to beat local rivals Handball Club Elche Vulcanizados Alberola last Saturday on the second day of the 1st National E.
The torrevejenses eventually went down by just 3 pts, by 28 – 25, in the ilicitano pavilion of Carrús.
With just ten minutes remaining and both leams level the saltmongers looked as though the might get something positive from their visit to Elche, but the home side’s superior fitness told in the final few minutes pf the game.
Next week the Salineros host Handball Mislata in a clash that will take place on Sunday at 12:00 in the Cecilio Gallego Municipal Pavilion.
