In association with Sapphire Properties and Costa Blanca Green Fee Services at Las Colinas on 7th December 2016.
For this months meeting the Spanglish Golf Society and a group of 28 players visited the established course at Las Colinas taking advantage of the excellent society deal obtained from Costa Blanca Green Fee Services.
Today was our Christmas Competition and this was a team event best 2 from 4 stableford and the course was in good condition but following heavy rain in the previous days no buggies were allowed on the course so much walking for everyone.
The winning scores on the day were as follows:
1st – Probert,Fanning,Owen and Wheatley – 80 points
2nd – Muttock,Drinkall,Goulder and McDermott – 72 points
3rd – Birkett,Jones,Clark and Evans – 70 points
Nearest the Pins – Probert (2),Speakman,Hewitson and Wheatley
Later that day we returned to the Spanglish bar, which is located at Dona Pepa, Quesada for our Christmas Dinner and annual prize presentation and we give our thanks for their support and that of our sponsor Sapphire Properties.

Most Improved Players of the Year – Cameron Cawte
Our football card draw was for a full size golf bag and this was won by Roger Chapman who immediately returned it for auction and we raised €70 which was passed to Mervyn Evans on behalf of Paul Cunningham Cancer Nurses.

The evening was the official handover of Captaincy from Jack Fanning to Joe Valente and both were presented with special society shirts to thank them for their efforts on behalf of the society.
Our last fixture of the year is a friendly society day at Vistabella on Wednesday 21st December 2016.
