The Vega Baja Garden Club’s meeting earlier in December was crowned by a presentation given by Anna Gevers and Jacqui Ford about Jacqui’s garden in Torrevieja.
There were lots and lots of interesting photos showing how Jacqui and her partner, David, have turned a bare plot into a beautiful garden in the space of 8 Years. It wasn’t at all easy but it is now a little bit of paradise, with an array of beautiful scented climbers and many interesting features. They have shown what is possible, with the poorest of soil and some very difficult conditions (neighbour’s high hedges and walls for example).
The photo shows Jacqui and her friends relaxing in her garden, enjoying the fruits of her labours!
Our Christmas meeting which will be held on Monday 5th December at Bar Trasgu’s in Formentera del Segura. Members have been asked to bring along some traditional Christmas nibbles for our party. We will also have a garden related quiz.
Most of our members have small terraces and balconies, so you have to own a huge plot to come along and enjoy our meetings – the emphasis is very much on the love of plants and gardens.
