After failing to make any provision in the last five years the Department of Housing and Public Works has allocated eight homes, all adjacent to the Rojales public park, to families with major socio-economic difficulties
According to a council press release the properties are valued at 181,000 euros and are just the start of a major effort by the Alicante conselleria according to Maria Jose Salvador.
The Rojales municipality currently manages 33 homes that are allocated to needy familes of which of which five are being purchased and twenty eight rented. It is understood that fifteen other houses have recently been registered for the scheme but all are in need of refurbishment with none of them currently fit for habitation.
