The international residents of the Las Filipinas urbanisation on the Orihuela Costa will now be more aware of what´s going on in their area, and be better represented, thanks to a new president taking over the community.
The FAOC (Federacion Asociaciones de Orihuela Costa) nominated Francisco Morales, the Facebook webmaster of the N332 road safety project, and a serving traffic police officer in the Guardia Civil, to take on the role given his notable work in the community already.
As Francisco and his family have recently moved to the area, he seemed an obvious choice for the FAOC, on account of his commitment to improving the quality of life for those who live, work and holiday in the area.
Francisco said, “Now I am going to live in the area I would like to improve the services, talk with the presidents of the communities of the area and identify the problems they have, with the only aim of having a better community”.
Francisco has already created a Facebook page to keep the local residents informed of what´s happening, and he urges “everyone who lives in Las Filipinas or the surrounding areas to join us”.
All nationalities are invited and encouraged to join the community initiative, the more people who do, then the better the area we will be able to meet the objectives they have set for themselves.
It is hoped that by being involved in the Facebook and real communities that a collective neutering of neighbours will evolve, serving as a meeting place, a platform for discussion and problem solving, promoting events and activities in the area, and highlighting the services provided by local, shops, tradespeople, businesses and business individuals.
Remember, the main aim is to improve the relations amongst the European Residents who live at Las Filipinas and nearby, as well as being a point of contact with the municipal utilities, in order to improve the service provided in Las Filipinas.
