Fire crews from both Torrevieja and Almoradi spent more than two hours extinguishing a blaze on the Orihuela Costa last Tuesday in the area of the Barranco de Monte Zenia urbanization near Villamartin.
The fire, which took hold at about 1330 hours was also attended by a helicopter from the Provincial Fire Consortium which helped to coordinate the extinction efforts of the crews.
The fire, spread across a large arid and dry scrub area, and was controlled before it could pose a threat to the nearby developments. There were no injuries or damage to any of the neighbouring properties
