Are you interested in the stars? If you are, why not come along to our observation evening on 1st September 2016. We are meeting on the Punta Prima promenade, up from the Nautilus Restaurant, just after dark…from 9pm onwards.

Main focus of the evening will be to let you see Saturn, the famous ringed planet.

Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second largest in the Solar System with an equatorial diameter of 120,000 kilometres or 9 Earths acoss. Its day is 10 hours 39 minutes long and it takes 29.5 Earth years to orbit the Sun. Unlike Earth that only has 1 moon, Saturn has 62. Saturn’s moons range in size from smaller than a football stadium to larger than the planet Mercury, and they vary in colour, texture and composition.

Saturns ringed system makes the planet one of the most beautiful objects in the Solar System.

We look forward to seeing you.
