An Orihuela businessman has reached a theoretical agreement with the current Chinese owners to purchase a landmark building in the centre of Madrid, the iconic edificio España de Madrid.
Trinitaro Casanova, born in Orihuela in 1965, has reached the agreement with the Wanda Group to buy the building for just over 265 million euro, which has allowed the agreement in principle, although the execution of the purchase will not be until after the summer.
Casanova, founder of Grupo Hispania, developed through real estate investments in the neighbouring region of Murcia, although the origins of the company are firmly in Orihuela.
