Part of Torrevieja centre was closed off on Friday when a suspect package was identified on calle Canónigo Torres.
Torrevieja has been the site of a number of terrorist attacks in the past and so on the day after the most recent attacks in France, vigilance was higher than normal.
The Guardia Civil closed off the area after receiving an alert from a business owner.
Luckily, on this occasion, the parcel was identified as having been lost be a postal delivery worker and was not a threat.
